Fort Ebey State Park (my rating A)

Fort Ebey State Park is on the west side of Whidbey Island, about 78 miles north of Seattle,  2-hour drive from home.  It is one of my favourite spots during warm days or when I miss the ocean waves.

I love this park because:

It is a proper ocean beach, although the sand isn't really silky sandy, but hey, it's ocean beach regardless......

It's not overly crowded, dogs and their human can dip their hands and feet wet in the water in the warm days.  See how wet my baby boy is?

Considering teenagers don't know what "do nothing" is, we bring mountain bikes with us, so that the restless human children of mine can burn energy.  There are trails for hiking and trails for mountain biking.  The map below is from Washing State Park website.

Occasionally a resident Bald Eagle flies overhead.

One the way back, don't forget to make a visit to one of several GOOD CAFEs on the Island for coffee and treat.

p.s.: And don't forget to purchase State Park Pass.  We have an annual pass.
